Fees

Our fees

Our fees to sell your business range from 5% to 25% of the transaction value, depending on how complex the implementation and the sale are. They are almost entirely tied to results and mostly paid after the sale. So starting well before you want to sell costs you almost nothing upfront.

Wording under legal review before publication.

5% to 25%depending on complexity, almost entirely tied to results

01

Almost entirely tied to results

We earn when your business sells well. The vast majority of our fee is paid after the sale, from its proceeds. In other words, our interest is exactly yours: a business that runs without you and sells for what it's worth.

  • Between 5% and 25% of the transaction value, depending on the complexity of the implementation and the sale.
  • The percentage is set at the start of the engagement and written into the contract.
  • Mostly paid after the sale, from its proceeds.
  • Four-year sunset: after that, the deferred fee no longer applies.

Worked example

From $2.8M to $4M

On results

Our fees are mostly paid after the sale. Almost nothing upfront.

Fees of 5% to 25% depending on the complexity of the implementation and the sale, $0.2M to $1M here. You keep $3–3.8M: in every case of this example, more than the starting value. Illustrative example, neither a valuation nor a price promise.

02

What moves the percentage

Two businesses of the same size can require very different work. The percentage reflects that work, not the size of your business.

  • How many processes need to be mapped, documented and automated.
  • How much implementation our regional partner does.
  • How much the business depends on you or key employees at the start.
  • How complex the sale is: family succession, sale to employees, several buyers, a share sale with a registered dealer.

03

Why start well before you want to sell

Because our fees come mostly from the result, working with us early costs you almost nothing upfront. And the earlier you start, ideally one to four years before the sale, the more time there is to make the business independent of you and create value.

Starting too late is the opposite: less time to fix dependencies, and a buyer who will make you pay for them in the price.

04

Example: from $2.8M to $4M

A manufacturer is worth $2.8M at the start of the engagement. After the Augment phase, it sells for $4M.

Depending on complexity, our fees fall between $200,000 and $1M. The owner keeps between $3M and $3.8M before taxes and other costs: in every case of this example, more than the business was worth at the start.

This example is illustrative. It is neither a valuation nor a price promise.

05

What isn't included

Fees from your tax specialists, accountants and lawyers, and from the registered dealer for a share sale, are billed separately by them. Implementation work by the regional partner is covered by a separate agreement, presented before starting.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to sell my business with you?
Between 5% and 25% of the transaction value, depending on the complexity of the implementation and the sale. It's almost entirely tied to results and mostly paid after the sale.
How is the percentage set?
At the start of the engagement, after the audit, based on the work involved: processes to rebuild, implementation, dependencies to fix and the complexity of the sale. It's written into the contract.
What happens if the business doesn't sell?
The fee is deferred and payable at change of control, with a four-year sunset. Exact terms are in the contract and explained before signing.
Why start long before selling?
Because it costs you almost nothing upfront and time creates the value: one to four years let you make the business independent of you before it goes on the market.
Is the on-site audit included?
It costs $5,000 and is credited against our fees if you sign within 90 days.
Are there hidden fees?
No. The only other costs are your own advisors and, where applicable, the implementation agreement with the regional partner, presented in writing before starting.
